20 JULY PEACE  AND FREEDOM DAY  TO BE CELEBRATED WITH  VARIOUS   CEREMONIES AND  EVENTS

The 20th July Peace and Freedom Day  will be celebrated  all over the TRNC with various ceremonies and events.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdođan together with a high level delegation will also attend this year’s celebrations marking the 34th anniversary of the Turkish Peace Operation in Cyprus, which brought peace to the whole island.

The Turkish Armed Forces will also be on the stage during the celebrations with its air and naval units.The Gelibolu Frigate of the Turkish Naval Forces will anchor near the Girne Yacht Port today, the 18th of July and will be open to public visits during   3 days.

The Turkish stars - the aerobatic team of the Turkish Air Force - will also display a magnificent show in the TRNC skies. The Turkish stars will have their first performance in Lefkosa on 20 July, during the official  ceremony on the  Dr. Fazil Kucuk Boulevard where speeches will be delivered and parade will be held.  Following their performance in Karpaz   between  11-12:30hrs,  in the afternoon, the Turkish starts  will  be in Girne  between  17:45-18-45 hrs.  

Meanwhile, within the 34th anniversary of the 20th July Peace and Freedom Day, several social, cultural  and sportive  activities were organized  for the Turkish Cypriot youth by the “National Days Celebration Committee” . A football match between the teams of the Republic’s Assembly and the  Turkish Grand National Assembly  will take place at Lefkosa Ataturk Stadium  at 20:30 hrs tonight (18 July) and a concert by Ziynet Sali  will take place at Girne Amphitheatre on Sunday night at 21:00 hrs.
