GERMAN PARLIAMENT
APPROVES DRAFT RESOLUTION ON CYPRUS
German Federal Assembly approved a
draft resolution envisaging the lifting of the isolation of the
Turkish Cypriots.
During the discussion of the draft
resolution, 8 speeches were delivered on behalf of the political
parties and the government.
It was stated that there was an
urgent need for a solution to the Cyprus problem and Germany should
undertake a duty for the lifting of the isolation. The letter sent by
the Greek Cypriot administration aimed at preventing the approval of
the draft resolution was also condemned by German politicians in their
speeches.
