OIC DELEGATION’S CONTACTS…
A delegation from the Islamic Conference Youth Forum
Secretariat, which arrived in the TRNC to hold an international
meeting on ‘the Youth for Alliance of Civilizations Initiative’
continues its contacts.
The delegation came together with President Mehmet Ali Talat at
a breakfast meeting at the Presidential Palace yesterday. During
the meeting, the President informed the delegation on the
recent developments regarding the Cyprus issue.
On Sunday (19.8.07) Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer gave a
dinner reception in honour of the delegation at the Dome Hotel
in Girne. Soyer in his speech emphasized that it was the
Turkish Cypriot side which wanted a peaceful solution to the
Cyprus issue.
Prime Minister Soyer pointing out that the Turkish side desired
an agreement on the bases of political equality, said the
Greek Cypriot side, whose main aim was to reach Enosis,
especially after being an EU member was trying to take
Turkish Cypriot under their sovereignty.
Prime Minister Soyer added “Turkish Cypriots are under
isolation. This cannot be accepted and is against human rights.
People living in the Northern part of Cyprus cannot have a
direct flight to other countries; Turkish Cypriot youth
cannot participate to international sport activities…” Soyer
stated that when the Cyprus problem was solved peace would be
secured in the middle east.
For his part, ALESCO Director Mongi Bousnia said they were
very pleased to carry out an international meeting on ‘the
Youth for Alliance of Civilizations Initiative’ in the TRNC
and thanked to the hospitality shown to themselves.
Within the framework of their contacts the Delegation was also
received by the TRNC Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign Affairs Turgay Avci yesterday.
Welcoming the visiting delegation, Mr Avci said he was very
pleased to see such an international meeting taking place in
the TRNC for the fist time and added that this kind of
international gatherings will help Turkish Cypriot People to
reach the position it deserves and integrate with the world.
Expressing the wish for the OIC delegation to be acquainted with
the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and to get information
on the latest situation of the Cyprus problem during their short
stay in the country, Deputy Prime Minister-Foreign Minister
Turgay Avci said he is quite sure that the delegation will
contribute efforts to unite the Turkish Cypriot youths with the
rest of the world.
Stating that the TRNC is ready to host such meetings and youth
camps from now on, Mr Avci said Turkish Cypriot People is in
need of an international support to reach the target of liberty,
freedom, equality and justice by taking part in the
international arena.
Speaking in the name of the delegation, the Secretary General of
the OIC Youth Forum’s Information Committee, Elshad Iskandarov
said that meetings that took place in the TRNC was very fruitful
and added that as the young entrepreneurs they add a new page to
the activities carried out by the OIC.
FOREIGNERS WHO WAS SWINDLED IN SOUTH CYPRUS MADE A COMPLAINT

Foreigners, who wanted to a buy a property in the touristic
regions of South Cyprus and was swindled by Greek Cypriot
contractors and estate agents made a complaint on the subject
trough the internet and various publications.
According to Greek Cypriot radio, there are visual documents
in the
www.utube.com site where contact was also made between
the victims.
Greek Cypriot Minister of Interior in his statement on the
issue stated that complaints of the foreigners disgraced the
Greek Cypriot economy, development and the state.
