FOREIGN MINISTER AVCI IN SYRIA

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Turgay Avcý yesterday (9 August) went to Syria.

During his two-day visit in Damascus, Foreign Minister Avcý will meet with Syrian High-Level Officials.

Foreign Minister Avcý’s contacts are expected to focus on improving trade relations and sea transportation between Syria and the TRNC.

According to the statement issued by the Deputy Prime Ministry and Ministry of Foreign Affairs the recent relations between the Republic of Turkey and Syria have been welcomed by the TRNC and the TRNC would do what is necessary in order to contribute to peace, stability and dialogue in Eastern Mediterranean.

The statement added that the necessary steps would be taken towards improving the relations between Syria and the TRNC.
