TRNC President Rauf Denktas speaking yesterday on receiving Brigadier Necmettin Baykul, the Commander of the Security Forces, said the just cause of the Turkish Cypriot people could be better defended if it was unanimously supported.

Pointing out that the Greek Cypriots are still continuing to mistreat the relatives of missing persons, which they have been using as a propaganda tool for all these years, President Denktas said the Greek Cypriots turn a blind eye to all the atrocities that they carried out and blame the Turks for killing every dead body that they find.

Stating that if the Greek Cypriots knew where the location of the mass graves of those Greek Cypriots killed by Greek Cypriots in the TRNC was, they could come and take their dead, the President said: "As promised, in exchange we will take our civilian dead and martyrs". He added that this proposal had been taken up in agreements made with the former Greek Cypriot leader Glafcos Clerides.
