TRNC President Rauf Denktas yesterday got together with
political party leaders with seats in the Republic’s Assembly for the
third time to evaluate the latest developments on the Cyprus issue and to
determine the stance of the Turkish Cypriot side before the new round of
talks scheduled to commence in the forthcoming days.
Responding to reporter’s questions before the meeting,
President Denktas said that their works are continuing and expressed his
hope that the meetings would produce a good conclusion.
Pointing out the importance of the continuation of
protecting the interests of the Turkish Cypriot people and Turkey’s
guarantorship without dilution, President Denktas said that they are working
towards reaching a strong and permanent new partnership and hoped that they
would be successful.
TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTRY DELEGATION TO VISIT
TRNC
A delegation from the Turkish Foreign Ministry will
depart from Ankara for the TRNC today in order to evaluate the latest
developments on the Cyprus issue with President Denktas as well as with
other officials.
According to information received from the Turkish
Embassy in Lefkosa, the Turkish Foreign Ministry delegation includes
Ambassador Baki Ýlkin, the Deputy Undersecretary, Ambassador Ertugrul
Apakan, the Director General, and Ambassador Necip Erguz, the Deputy
Director General.
