FERDİ SABİT SOYER
He
was born in the year 1952. He
graduated from Lefkoşa Turkish
Highschool in 1970. He interrrupted
his higher education and he served
as trade unionsit for a long time.
He
was elected to the Parliament from
the Republican Turkish Party for
Gazi Mağusa at the 1985, 1990
General Elections and at the 1993
Early General Elections. In the
Democrat Party- Republican Turkish
party coalition, he served as the
Minister of Forestry, Natural
Sources and Energy between 1.1.1994
and 11.12.1995. He was elected to
the Parliament from the Republican
Turkish Party, for Gazi Mağusa at
the General Elections held on 6
December 1998 and at the General
Elections held on 14 December 2003.
He is
married and has two children.
He
knows English.
Deputy
Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign Affairs
TURGAY AVCI
Turgay Avcı was born in Larnaka in
1959. After graduating from Namık
Kemal High School in Gazi Mağusa,
he studied Electric Electronics
Engineering at Beirut American
University and graduated in 1985.
He received his masters degree in
Business at Eastern Mediterranean
University (EMU) in 1992 and have a
doctorate from Çukurova University
on Administration and Organization.
He served in EMU from 1990 to 2003
respectively as the Deputy Chairman
of the Business Administration, the
Director of the School of Tourism
and Hospitality Management and as
the Deputy Rector. He attended
trainings in USA and Germany in the
fields of tourism, administration
and quality.
He also served as the President of
EMU Tourism Research Centre and
EMU Strategic Research Centre. He
was a Member of North Cyprus Atatürk
Research and Implementation Centre
and Member of the State Television
(BRT) Board. In public sector, he
served as a Member of the Advisory
Council, Specialization
Commission, Tourism Master Plan
Working Committee, Tourism
Advisory Committee, and Human
Resource and Education Committee.
In 14 December 2003 General Elections and later in 20 February 2005 early
elections he was elected to the
Parliament as National Unity
Party’s Gazi Magusa MP. After
serving as the Secretary General
of the National Unity Party, he
resigned from his party and formed
Freedom and Reform Party. He took
part in the Republican Turkish
Party-United Forces and Freedom and
Reform Party coalition government,
which was formed in 25 September
2006, as the Deputy Prime Minister
and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He speaks English, Italian and
Arabic. He is married, with two
children.
Minister
of Interior
ÖZKAN MURAT
He was
born in the year 1957. He graduated
from İstanbul University, Faculty of
Law in 1980.
He
served as lawyer between 1983-1993.
He was
elected to the Parliament from the
Republican Turkish party for Nicosia
at 1993. During 1993-1998 RTP-DP
coalition government, he first
served as the Minister of Labor and
Social Security and then as the
Minister of Agriculture, Natural
Resources and Energy.
At the
second RTP-DP coalition government
he served as the Minister of
Interior.
He is
married and has two children
Minister of
Public works and Communications
SALİH USAR
He was
born in 1947 in Ziyamet. He
completed his primary and secondary
education in Cyprus and continued
his higher education in Ankara at
the University of Ankara, Faculty of
Law during 1968-1972 period. During
his education years he performed
various roles for organization of
the youth.
He has
taken part in publicaiton of the
Yenidüzen Newspaper and worked for
Sanayi Holding during 1977-1985
period.
Within
and aftermath of this period, he
became unionist and active in
several unions belong to DEV-İŞ.
He was
elected to the parliament from the
RTP for Kyrenia at the 1985, 1990
and 1993 elections. Currently he is
serving as RTP- DP Kyrenia District
Chariman.
He is
married and has two children
Minister
of Agriculture
ÖNDER SENNAROĞLU
He was born in Büyükkonuk in 1957.
After graduating from Ankara
University Agriculture Faculty he
worked in the agriculture sector.
In 1998 General Elections, he was
elected to the Parliament as the
National Unity Party’s İskele MP.
Later in 2005, he was re-elected
to the parliament from Republican
Turkish Party -United Forces.
He is married with two children.
Minister
of Education and Culture
CANAN ÖZTOPRAK
She was
born in the year 1955 in Linu. She
graduated from the Middle East
Technical University, department of
Psychology. She participated various
international courses and
conferences on conflict resolution,
social gender and reconciliation.
She
worked as a consultant psychologist
at the University of Cyprus and she
acted as the leader of the Women
Movement for Peace and Federal
Solution for a semester.
She took
part in some organizations and
projects such as the Conciliation
Center, Dialogue between Cypriot
Women, Documentary of Successful
Women, Strengthening of Women,
Cyprus Intercultural Education
Initiative, Determination and
Control of the Pollution in our
Coastline and Preservation of the
Historical Date Trees as well as
some voluntary works.
As a
founding leader, currently she acts
as a vice President of the
Reconciliation Association.
She is
married and has three children
She

Environment and
Natural Resources
MUSTAFA GÖKMEN
Mustafa Gökmen was born in 1957, in
Trabzon.
Gökmen immigrated to Cyprus in
1975 and graduated from Atatürk
Teachers Training College. He has
served as a teacher in Kaplıca
Primary School for 17 years.
He was elected to the parliament in
the Early General Elections held in
1993 from Democrat Party as İskele
MP. Mustafa Gökmen served as the
Minister of Youth, Sports and
Environment between 18 January
1995 and 16 August 1996.
He was re-elected to the parliament
from Democrat Party in 14 December
2003 General Elections and in 20
February 2005 Early General
Elections, respectively.
He resigned from Democrat Party on 7
September 2006 and joined to
Freedom and Reform Party as a
founding member.
Currently, he is serving as the
Minister of Environment and Natural
Resources and the Deputy Leader of
Freedom and Democrat Party.
He is married, with three children.
Minister
of Labor and Social Security
SONAY ADEM
He was
born in Paphos, in 1957. He
graduated from Güzelyurt Kurtuluş
Lycee in 1975. He continued his
university studies at Istanbul
University, Faculty of Economics. He
interrupted his studies and returned
to Cyprus.
He was
elected to the Parliament at the
Early General Elections held in
1993, General Elections held on 6
December 1998 from the Republican
Turkish Party, for Gazimağusa and at
General Elections held on 14
December 2003 from the Republican
Turkish Party-United Forces, for
Gazimağusa.
He is
married and has three children.
Minister
of Health
EŞREF VAİZ
He was
born in Tuzla-Larnaka in 1957. He
completed his secondary education in
Bekirpaşa and Anafartalar High
schools.
He
started his higher education in the
University of İstanbul, Faculty of
Dentistry in the year 1975. After
his graduation, he performed his job
until 1994 in Turkey.
During
his education years, he participated
in the administration of Cypriots
Education and Youth Federation (KÖGEF)
and he acted a leader role in the
establishment of the University
Representative Council (ÜTK).
He
served consolatory and then
undersecretary roles in the Ministry
of Health and Environment during
1994 first DP-RTP coalition
government. Since 1996 he has been
performing his profession.
He acted
as a member of District
Administration in the RTP in 1997,
member of Central Administration in
1999 and Secretary of the
Organization in 2001-2003.
In 1994
he served as Undersecretary of Prime
Ministry for the first RTP-DP
coalition government.
He is
married and has two children
Minister
of Economy and Tourism
ERDOĞAN ŞANLIDAĞ
He was born in Kalkanlı-Baf in 1953.
He graduated from Çukurova
University Engineering High School’s,
Mehchanical Engineer Department in
1976. He started to work at Water
Works Department in 1977. He was
appointed as the Director of
Planning and Project at the Ministry
of Interior, Rural Affairs and
Housing in February 2001. He was
then appointed as the Director of
Water Works Department in August.
He was elected to the Parliament
from the National Unity Party as a
Güzelyurt MP at 14 December 2003
General Elections and 20 February
2005 Early General Elections. He
served as the Deputy Secretary
General of the Naional Unity Party.
He resigned from the National Unity
Party in 7 September 2006 and joined
to the Freedom and Refrom Party as a
founder member in 15 September 2006.
Currently, he is the Vice President
of the Freedom and Reform Party.
He is married and has 3 children.
